Interim vs. Permanent

As a perioperative executive, there are several options for your next career move. Find a full-time position. Fill in during a leadership transition. Or help a perioperative department solve a specific problem. Your AORN Works recruiter will take the time to get to know you and determine which types of positions are the best fit for your goals and life situation.

Contractor or Employee?

Interim assignments often involve a choice. During the project, you can become an employee or bill AORN Works directly as an independent contractor. Each option has tax, liability and health insurance implications.

Generally, when you become an employee, you will normally receive benefits while the employer deducts taxes from a regular paycheck. On the other hand, a contractor will send invoices, pay their own taxes and buy their own health insurance. Please confer with your tax advisor to decide the right option for you.
