DESCRIPTION & DETAILS: AORN Works is seeking a full-time permanent Perioperative Educator for a large east coast facility. The Perioperative Services Educator provides clinical expertise whereby integrating quality care across the continuum and is responsible for the overall education and professional development of the Perioperative and GI nursing and ancillary staff.

• Large teaching facility; over 40 OR suites

• 26,000-27,000 cases per year

• Provides leadership, expertise and support in planning, promoting, designing and ensuring delivery of education for Perioperative Services across the continuum in the service line in accordance with agreed business and educational plans.

• Promotes and directs evidence-based nursing practice to optimize safe quality nursing care.

• Leads and coordinates nursing staff research

• Promotes the development of professional practice of nursing students

• Leads performance Improvement Initiatives

• Provides support to individual nursing staff, to enhance professional development

• Fiscal accountability

• Organizational leadership

• Customer service

REQUIREMENTS:

• BSN required.

• MSN or Master's in related field required

• 5 years of Perioperative clinical practice experience, 3 years current staff development or health care educational programs in a comparable setting
